Comandante - C40 MK4 Nitro Blade Black mill

Comandante C40 MK4 Nitro Blade - this is the new version of the iconic coffee grinder, considered by many to be the best hand grinder in the world.

Several innovations have been introduced in the MK4 version:

- New form and material of the stabilising elements of the quern - this makes the parts more robust, eliminates the problem of blocking grains and increases the capacity of the grinder.
- Each grinder contains two jars for the ground coffee: one jar of brown glass and one of transparent polymer. The polymer jar is lightweight and more durable, and can also be used as a cup.
- New packaging that better protects the mill.

Filament

The mills are manufactured in Germany. The material and design of the querns are the result of many years of Comandante research. The Nitro Blade filament is extremely precise, created using high-alloy nitrided stainless steel and a martensitic microcrystalline matrix.

The blade geometry has been optimised to achieve excellent performance at low crank speeds while ensuring grinding into even particles for the best brewing results. In addition, due to their physical and chemical properties, the steel querns are neutral in terms of their effect on the taste of the coffee.

Adjusting the grinding level

The gradual grinding control provides full control over the settings for each brewing method and helps achieve repeatability. The results are remarkably satisfactory, both when grinding for alternative methods and for espresso, making the unit unique from other hand grinders. The excellence of the grind has made the Comandante the choice of coffee enthusiasts all over the world - from home baristas to World Brewers Cup champions.

Design

Stainless steel is the right choice to create a robust and food-safe coffee grinder. Therefore, not only the quern, but also the body, axle, crank and micro ball bearings are made of steel. Comandante products do not contain aluminium. Comandante also uses efficient BPA-free polymers that meet the strictest food safety standards. These materials are designed to withstand years of heavy use. The brand also loves natural wood. The solid oak handles, produced by friends in the German Black Forest, are both ergonomic and beautiful to the eye thanks to the unique grain structure of the oak.

A robust and elegant powder coating - painted and cured at a high temperature - is used for this model.

Each grinder contains two jars for the ground coffee: one jar of brown glass and one of transparent polymer. Both are easy to clean and hold approximately 40g of coffee beans. The grinder weighs just over 600g - the compact size and sturdy design make it a great tool whether you're at home or on the go.
