A fruit garden in the morning mist.
This coffee is the essence of tropical elegance - like walking through a plantation where the air smells of pineapple, jasmine and sunshine. The Alvarado sisters, owners of Joicafe, prove that natural processing in Costa Rica is an art, not an accident. Los Cedros tastes like a summer afternoon after a storm - intense but clean. In the cup you will find pineapple, juicy forest fruits and floral notes that develop with each passing moment. A coffee for those looking for finesse, depth and a moment of respite away from the banal.

What makes our coffee special?

Region

Costa Rica, West Valley, Los Robles de Naranjo

Botanical varieties

Caturra & Catuai
Both varieties - Caturra and Catuai - are widely grown in Costa Rica for their quality and robustness. Caturra provides elegance and clear acidity, while Catuai brings structure and sweetness. Combined with natural processing, they produce a complex and intense result - with a tropical touch.

Processing method

Natural
Natural (dry) processing involves drying the whole coffee fruit without first removing the pulp. It is a method that gives the bean an intense sweetness, fruitiness and full body. At Joicafe, the process is carried out with great care, resulting in a purity of flavour and vibrant tropical fruit notes.

How does this coffee taste?

Imagine a juicy pineapple slice that someone has placed on a warmed stone in a botanical garden - alongside freshly picked forest berries and a bouquet of wild flowers. This coffee explodes with tropical freshness, but does so with class and balance. It's as light as morning mist and as complex as a good story - each layer of flavour reveals the next: first the fruit, then the structure, then the floral finish.

Costa Rica

Finca Volcan Azul is a farm with a history dating back to the 19th century. Run by the Alejo Castro Kahle family, for generations it has provided coffees considered to be among the best in the world. The beans grown here come from organic plantations, surrounded by virgin rainforests, the protection of which is as important as the coffee production itself.

The farm not only nurtures a tradition of quality, but is also committed to sustainability, with part of the proceeds going towards forest conservation and reducing the carbon footprint. It's not just coffee - it's history, tradition and the future in one sip.
